Tributes paid to woman who died in Buxton flat fire

Neighbours told how the ‘quiet’ 44-year-old had lived at Chatsworth Lodge on Carlisle Road for 20 years.
One neighbour described Tracey - who had always lived alone - as ‘very quiet’.

Hide AdShe added: “You wouldn’t see her for weeks on end but she was a personable girl.”
Floral tributes have been left outside the main doors of the block of flats and propped against the door of Tracey’s home.
One tribute read: “No words just sadness. Will miss bumping into you in town and having a quick catch up. Charlotte”
Firefighters found Tracey inside her home after being called out to the ‘heavily smoke logged flat’ at 8.44am on Wednesday morning.

Hide AdHowever she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene after being handed over to paramedics.

Hide AdA neighbour said the night before the fire another resident reported seeing Tracey’s purse and medication fall from her window.
The neighbour added: “We saw her the night before and she said ‘hiya’ - she was excited that scaffolding had been put up because she wanted to get the guttering fixed.
“I don’t know what’s happened but it must have been a tragic accident.”

Hide AdPolice are jointly investigating the blaze with the fire service but the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A fire service spokesman added: “The thoughts and sympathy of everyone at Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service are with the family and friends of the deceased at this distressing time.”
